Right from the beginning when we made contact, Ella was responsive and approachable. She really put us at ease as soon as we met and was very knowledgable about local hospitals and birth options. We knew straight away that Ella’s calm but confident approach meant we wanted her at our birth.

In the lead up to the birth of our baby boy, Ella visited us at home a few times and helped us with our birth plan, she made sure both my husband and I had time to ask questions and we were able to consider things we hadn’t even thought of. We never felt rushed and whenever we had a question Ella was at the other end of the phone and always responded quickly.

When it came to my due date, our planned home birth changed at the last minute and (due to various medical complications) meant I had to be in hospital. Ella came to hospital and made everything feel easier at what was an immensely stressful time. The pressure was taken off because she liaised with medical staff and advocated for me at a time when I couldn’t. Both my husband and I felt completely supported, and Ella stayed with us through the night whilst we waited for an emergency c-section. We genuinely would have been lost without her.

After our boy was born, Ella came to visit us in the hospital, and again at home when we were discharged. These postnatal visits were so valuable as she spotted that our son was struggling with silent reflux, and was able to guide us about next steps in helping him get better.

We truly feel very lucky to have found Ella!
